Launch of the Book "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - The Way Forward for Global Peace"

The recent launch of the book "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - The Way Forward for Global Peace" marks a significant milestone in promoting global harmony and interconnectedness. This book offers a profound exploration of the timeless philosophy that "the world is one family." Drawing inspiration from the Global Peace Leadership Conference Indo-Pacific (GPLC-2023), held in New Delhi, India, the publication aims to provide actionable insights for fostering global cooperation and understanding. The GPLC-2023 focused on the theme "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: Vision for Advancing Human Consciousness and Peace," culminating in the New Delhi Declaration that emphasized the importance of this ancient wisdom in addressing contemporary global challenges. This theme was further reinforced when the 18th G20 Summit adopted the slogan "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: One Earth, One Family, One Future" in September 2023, solidifying the relevance of this philosophy in today’s geopolitical landscape.

The authors of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - The Way Forward for Global Peace—Dr. Markandey Rai, Project Director, Dr. Prabhas C. Sinha, Guide, and Dr. Surendra K. Pathak, Principal Investigator—bring a wealth of experience and expertise to this important work, each contributing their unique perspectives and insights into the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

Together, the authors have crafted a comprehensive exploration of the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam philosophy, drawing on their diverse backgrounds to provide a holistic understanding of its implications for global peace. The launch of the book unfolded across several impactful events, reflecting the philosophy of unity. One notable event took place at the residence of the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, in New Delhi. During this gathering, Minister Gadkari expressed his admiration for the book's timely message, emphasizing the importance of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam in fostering unity among diverse cultures and nations. His belief in the philosophy as a cornerstone for collaborative efforts toward sustainable development resonated deeply with attendees.


The next launch occurred at the office of the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Ram Nath Thakur. Here, Minister Thakur conveyed his appreciation for the book, highlighting its relevance in addressing the challenges faced by farmers and the agricultural sector. He articulated that the principles of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam could lead to cooperative practices in food security and sustainable agriculture, reinforcing the idea that collective action is essential for achieving prosperity and peace.


The book was also unveiled at the Higher Education and Development Summit 2024, where dignitaries such as Prof. PB Sharma, Prof. PR Trivedi, and Shri Ram Nath Thakur shared their insights. Prof. Sharma emphasized the need for educational institutions to adopt the principles of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam in their curricula, fostering a generation that prioritizes unity and understanding. Prof. Trivedi echoed this sentiment, stating that education is pivotal in cultivating a global mindset. The book was presented to Swami Mohan Rupa Das, President, of ISCKON, New Delhi during the conference.

Another significant launch took place during the Indo-Pacific Peace Forum Brainstorming session organized by the GPF India and Akhil Bhartiya Sahayog Parisad, coinciding with the United Nations World Tourism Day. In attendance were esteemed ambassadors and experts, including Mr. Shyam Parande, Secretary General ARSP, and Sanjay Bhalla, Director ARSP, Ambassador Shashank, Ambassador Deepak Vohra, Ambassador  Anil Trigunayak, Ambassador Gurjit Singh, Ambassador Sushil Kumar Singhal, and Ms. Winnie Mwanjala, Minister at the High Commission of Kenya, Prof. Ajay Kumar Dubey, Dr. Ashok Pandey, Prof. V. K. Goswami, Dr. Monish Tourangbam, Dr. M. D. Thomas, Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi presided over the launch, highlighting the book's message of empathy and cooperation as vital for the tourism sector, reinforcing its global appeal and necessity for fostering international understanding.

The book was also presented at a Round Table conference on "Oneness of Humanity" at the Bahai House of Public Affairs and IGTAMSU University in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, in the presence of Minister of Agriculture Shri Tage Taki and former State Election Commissioner Shri Hage Kojeen. The book was given to the university's vice-chancellor, Dr. Sidharth Shankar, to be kept in the university library.
