In April 2025, Dubai became a global crossroads of compassion and conscience. The
Global Justice, Love & Peace Summit 2025 gathered world leaders, Nobel Laureates,
spiritual mentors, and social pioneers to explore the true essence of peace—not as the
absence of war, but as the active presence of love, justice, and human dignity.
Among the honored participants was Dr. Markandey Rai, Chairman of GPF India,
Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of ARSP & Former Senior Advisor to UN-
Habitat. He attended as a distinguished nominee for the prestigious World Peace
Organisation Award, which was conferred in recognition of his lifelong service to
peacebuilding, ethical leadership, and community development. His presence was not
only symbolic but deeply substantive, echoing the spirit of India’s timeless philosophy:
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family.
Dr. Rai’s address at the summit was met with heartfelt applause. He spoke not from a
podium of power, but from a place of humility. “This award,” he said, “is not just for
me—it belongs to all who work silently for peace in forgotten corners of the world.” He
dedicated the honor to two women who shaped his life: his late mother, who instilled in
him the value of giving, and his late wife, Gaytri, whose quiet strength and compassion
continue to guide his path.
Through GPF India, Dr. Rai has led efforts that bring people together across faiths,
backgrounds, and ideologies. From interfaith youth leadership to grassroots
development, his work bridges divides and nurtures common ground. “GPF is not just
an organization,” he shared, “it is a movement of hearts committed to unity and action.”

Held on 12–13 April at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, the summit hosted over 3000
delegates, including 28 international award nominees. The event was marked by the
unveiling of a Peace Charter, dubbed a “Love Letter to Humanity,” signed by 12 Nobel
laureates. This charter is set to be presented to the United Nations later this year,
reinforcing a global commitment to moral leadership and shared responsibility.
The summit’s unique blend of spirituality, diplomacy, and community action offered a
compelling model for future peacebuilding frameworks. Topics ranged from
interreligious harmony to climate justice, from youth empowerment to digital ethics—all
tied together by a call to lead with empathy and courage.

Dr. Rai’s participation reaffirmed GPF India's global relevance and opened new
avenues for partnership. Future collaborations are already being explored with summit
delegates, particularly in areas of youth training, civic education, and interfaith dialogue.
There are also plans to amplify the Peace Charter’s message in GPF India’s upcoming
forums, including the Global Peace Forum and Indo-Pacific Peace Forum. He agreed
with the Nobel Peace Laureate Prof. Mohan Munasinghe from Sri Lanka to work
together and open a chapter of Global Peace Foundation in Columbo. Furthermore,
Nobel Peace Laureate from India Shri Kailash Satyarthi also affirmed to work with GPF
India.

In a world often fractured by fear and division, voices like Dr. Rai’s remind us of our
shared humanity. As he so aptly concluded in his speech:
“A divided world is not the fate of humanity. It’s an unfinished chapter. Let us be the
authors of a new story—one where peace is not just a dream but a reality we live and
breathe.”
