Scientific and Vocational Education (SAVE) Summit

On 12 March 2026, the Scientific and Vocational Education (SAVE) Summit was successfully organized by the Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment at the auditorium of the India International Centre, New Delhi. The summit was held under the theme “Unlocking Potential: From Scientific Curiosity to Vocational Mastery.” The event brought together distinguished academicians, policymakers, scientists, and professionals to discuss the importance of strengthening scientific education and promoting vocational skills among the youth.
The program began with the registration of delegates and invited guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guests and Guests of Honour. The inaugural session also witnessed the release of important publications related to scientific and vocational education.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Utkarsh Sharma, who highlighted the growing importance of skill-based education and innovation in today’s rapidly changing world. The presidential remarks were presented by Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi, who emphasized the need to integrate academic knowledge with practical training to prepare youth for future challenges.
The summit featured insightful addresses from several eminent personalities. Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, former Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Government of India, who spoke about India’s growing role in promoting education, culture, and global cooperation. International perspectives were shared by Abdullah Mohammed Abu Shawish, Ambassador of the State of Palestine in India, who appreciated India’s contribution to global education and knowledge exchange.
The gathering was further enriched by the address of Dr. Markandey Rai, Chairman of the Global Peace Foundation India, who spoke about the importance of education, peace, and sustainable development at the global level.
Several distinguished scholars and experts, including Mr. Afshar Alam, Dr. S. N. Pandey, Prof. Gregory Berglund, Prof. Sanjay Kumar Jha, Dr. Laj Utreja and Prof. Surendra Pathak, also shared their valuable insights on scientific research, innovation, and the role of vocational training in strengthening the education system.

A significant part of the event was the Awards and Appreciation Ceremony, where distinguished individuals were recognized for their contributions to education, research, science, and social development.
The summit concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Avinash Chiranjiv, who expressed gratitude to all the distinguished guests, speakers, organizers, and participants. The event ended with a tea and coffee networking session, leaving participants inspired to further promote scientific curiosity and vocational excellence in society.
