Global Peace Foundation (GPF) India participated in a significant national-level AYUSH programme held on 23 September 2025 at the All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa. The programme marked an important milestone in India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen traditional healthcare systems and promote holistic well-being. The event was graced by the presence of Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, along with the Hon’ble Governor of Goa and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa.

The programme brought together policymakers, healthcare professionals, institutional leaders, and representatives from civil society organisations to deliberate on the expanding role of AYUSH systems—particularly Ayurveda—in national healthcare delivery, education, research, and wellness initiatives. As a premier institution under the Ministry of AYUSH, AIIA Goa is steadily emerging as a centre of excellence in Ayurvedic education, clinical practice, and research, and the programme reflected the Government of India’s focused commitment to this sector.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Prataprao Jadhav highlighted the relevance of AYUSH systems in preventive healthcare, lifestyle management, and sustainable health models. He emphasized the need to integrate traditional medical knowledge with modern scientific approaches to enhance accessibility, credibility, and global acceptance of Ayurveda and other AYUSH disciplines. The Minister also appreciated the role of academic and research institutions like AIIA in nurturing skilled professionals and advancing evidence-based practices.

The Hon’ble Governor and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa reaffirmed the state’s support for AYUSH-based education and healthcare initiatives. They underlined Goa’s growing potential as a hub for wellness, medical tourism, and holistic health, supported by strong institutional infrastructure and collaborative efforts between the Centre and the State.

GPF India’s participation in the programme aligns closely with its mission to promote peace, well-being, and sustainable development through education, ethical leadership, and community empowerment. Recognising health as a foundational pillar of social harmony, GPF India supports initiatives that advance inclusive and preventive healthcare systems rooted in cultural wisdom and scientific innovation.

The programme concluded with discussions on future collaborations, institutional strengthening, and strategic initiatives aimed at expanding the outreach and impact of AYUSH across communities. The event reaffirmed India’s leadership in traditional medicine and highlighted the collective responsibility of government, institutions, and civil society in building a healthier and more harmonious society.
